Job Title: Software Engineering Manager
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid/ Tuesday - Thursday On-Site)

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a distributed engineering team responsible for developing and delivering software products. This role combines people leadership, project execution, technical process management, and close collaboration with product and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Software Delivery
- Oversee the planning and delivery of software initiatives, ensuring projects meet agreed-upon timelines, quality standards, and business objectives.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to manage priorities, scope, schedules, and changing requirements.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for engineering challenges, delivery risks, and production issues.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and obstacles to relevant stakeholders.
- Support software releases and deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
Team Leadership
- Lead and support a team of software engineers and quality professionals working across multiple locations.
- Provide direction, coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities to team members.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Establish clear expectations and foster a collaborative, accountable, and productive engineering culture.
- Encourage knowledge sharing, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Engineering Processes
- Establish and maintain effective software development practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Promote consistent engineering standards, development practices, quality processes, and delivery procedures.
- Help coordinate engineering work across teams, including projects that rely on shared technical resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, collaboration, and delivery efficiency.
- Support the effective use of tools for planning, tracking, testing, documentation, builds, deployments, and releases.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Several years of experience managing software engineering teams, preferably within an Agile development environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering commercial software or SaaS products.
- Experience working with Microsoft-based development technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, web application development, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience managing teams distributed across multiple geographic locations is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile principles.
- Familiarity with engineering and delivery tools used for issue tracking, source control, builds, testing, deployment, documentation, and release management.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements across distributed engineering organizations.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
