Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and continuous evolution of the company's enterprise cybersecurity program. This role protects the organization's information assets, technology infrastructure, and business operations by reducing cyber risk, strengthening resilience, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
Serving as both a strategic leader and technical expert, the Senior Manager partners across Information Technology, Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, Engineering, and business functions to embed security into enterprise processes and technology initiatives. This leader drives a proactive security culture while developing scalable, measurable, and mature cybersecurity capabilities that support the company's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Strategy & Governance
Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the enterprise cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, and operating model aligned with business objectives and risk priorities.
Establish cybersecurity governance, performance metrics, and executive reporting to communicate security posture, program maturity, key risks, and investment outcomes.
Foster enterprise-wide accountability for cybersecurity through cross-functional governance forums and strategic partnerships.
Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and security awareness initiatives.
Lead third-party risk management activities and ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated into vendor relationships.
Security Operations & Incident Response
Direct daily security operations, including monitoring, threat detection, incident response, investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis.
Enhance security operations through automation, threat intelligence, and advanced monitoring capabilities to improve detection and response effectiveness.
Lead vulnerability management across endpoints, servers, cloud platforms, applications, and network infrastructure.
Oversee cyber resilience initiatives, ensuring effective recovery processes and integration with business continuity and disaster recovery programs.
Infrastructure & Cloud Security
Partner with Infrastructure and IT Operations teams to ensure secure configuration, hardening, and patch management for Windows and Linux environments, virtualization platforms, cloud workloads, and enterprise networks.
Lead strategic initiatives supporting Zero Trust architecture, identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management, and network segmentation.
Drive cloud security initiatives, with a focus on Azure, including workload protection, identity security, configuration management, and continuous compliance monitoring.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate secure software development practices, including application security testing (SAST, DAST) and secure coding standards.
Risk Management & Compliance
Lead enterprise cyber risk assessments and security control evaluations using recognized frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls.
Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and industry standards including SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOX, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, and CASL.
Support internal and external audits while driving continuous compliance and control improvement initiatives.
Monitor emerging threats, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to continuously strengthen the organization's security posture.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing cybersecurity team through coaching, performance management, and career development.
Establish clear goals, accountability, and operational excellence across the cybersecurity function.
Build scalable processes, documentation, and operational standards that improve efficiency and program maturity.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by translating technical risks into business-focused recommendations and priorities.
General Responsibilities
Regularly and reliably report to work on time as an essential function of the position.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in cybersecurity or information security.
Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience managing cybersecurity teams or programs.
Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations, private equity-backed companies, or similarly fast-paced business environments preferred.
Technical Qualifications
Hands-on experience with security technologies including SIEM, EDR, DLP, IAM, CSPM, vulnerability management, and endpoint security platforms.
Strong understanding of modern security architectures, including Zero Trust and identity-centric security models.
Experience securing cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure; AWS and Google Cloud Platform experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of cloud workload protection, compliance monitoring, configuration management, and infrastructure security.
Experience supporting audit readiness, governance, risk management, and continuous compliance initiatives.
Preferred Certifications
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
Equivalent industry certifications will also be considered.
