Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior PHP Developer to join a collaborative development team responsible for building and maintaining scalable web applications. This role offers the opportunity to develop RESTful APIs, contribute to a microservices architecture, and work with modern development tools and frameworks while growing your technical expertise in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using the Symfony framework.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient PHP code.
Design and implement API endpoints following REST best practices.
Participate in application analysis, solution design, and technical planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business and technical requirements.
Create and maintain functional and technical documentation.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions.
Develop work estimates for assigned projects.
Identify and implement appropriate testing strategies.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Collaborate with developers to improve automated testing and code coverage.
Debug applications and resolve issues in Linux (Ubuntu) environments.
Work with Docker containers for local development and deployment.
Manage project dependencies using Composer.
Utilize Git for source control and collaboration.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Support software releases from development through production deployment.
Research and recommend improvements to development processes, architecture, and system performance.
Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolution.
Document code changes and technical solutions.
Collaborate closely with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and other technical teams to ensure quality, security, and customer satisfaction.
Mentor junior team members when appropriate.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Approximately 3 years of professional PHP development experience.
Experience developing applications with the Symfony framework.
Experience building RESTful APIs.
Working knowledge of Composer package management.
Experience using Docker containers.
Familiarity with Ubuntu or other Linux environments.
Experience using Git version control.
Understanding of networking fundamentals.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
Experience with performance testing and application monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
Knowledge of API security best practices.
Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Experience with PHPUnit.
Basic JavaScript and frontend development knowledge.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles.
Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Redis.
